About Open Ocean Robotics
Open Ocean Robotics is advancing ocean intelligence through autonomous, zero-emission uncrewed surface vehicles (USVs). Our platforms collect critical ocean data to support environmental monitoring, maritime security, and offshore operations.
As we scale revenue, expand internationally, and prepare for our next phase of growth, we are strengthening both how the company operates internally and how we communicate externally with investors and stakeholders.
Why This Role Exists
Open Ocean Robotics is transitioning from an early-stage company to a scaling organization. As complexity increases, execution bottlenecks and communication gaps emerge at the leadership level.
This role exists to remove those bottlenecks.
The Chief of Staff will act as a force multiplier to the CEO, owning execution cadence, supporting investor communications and fundraising, owning key HR activities, and ensuring the organization operates with clarity, accountability, and discipline.
This is a senior, high-trust role with significant exposure across all aspects of the business.
The Role
We are hiring a Chief of Staff to work directly with the CEO and leadership team to drive execution, alignment, and external communication effectiveness.
You will operate at the intersection of strategy, execution, and communication. Internally, you will ensure priorities are translated into action. Externally, you will help ensure the company presents a clear, credible, and consistent narrative to investors.
This is a high-impact role with a clear pathway to broader operational leadership as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
Own Company Operating Cadence
- Own and drive company-wide operating rhythms, including OKRs, leadership meetings, and performance tracking
- Lead the development to bring clear visibility into priorities, progress, and risks
- Drive accountability and follow-through across teams
Translate Strategy into Execution
- Partner with the CEO and leadership team to operationalize strategic priorities
- Break down objectives into clear plans, timelines, and ownership
- Remove bottlenecks and ensure initiatives are executed to completion
Investor Communications & Reporting
- Draft and manage monthly and quarterly investor updates
- Prepare board materials and reporting packages
- Track and present key company metrics and performance insights
- Ensure consistency between internal performance and external narrative
Fundraising Support
- Develop and deliver fundraising materials including decks and data room
- Manage investor pipeline tracking and follow-ups
- Coordinate diligence processes and information requests
- Support CEO in managing investor communications during fundraising
HR Contracts & Documentation
- Own drafting and management of employment agreements and offer letters
- Maintain contract templates and ensure consistency across documentation
- Coordinate with external legal counsel when required
- Ensure accurate and organized record-keeping of employment documentation
- Owning the recruiting and compensation processes
Qualifications
Required
- 5–7 years of experience in operations, consulting, strategy, or similar roles
- Experience working closely with founders or senior executives
- Proven ability to drive cross-functional execution and deliver outcomes
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience supporting investor communications, board materials, or fundraising processes
- High level of discretion and ability to handle sensitive information
Preferred
- Experience in a scaling startup or technology company
- Exposure to fundraising, investor relations, or venture-backed environments
- Familiarity with operational frameworks such as OKRs and KPIs
- Experience working with technical teams (engineering, product)

Compensation
- Salary: $75,000 – $115,000
- Equity: 0.1% – 0.25%
